This is a touching story of a
16-year old dog that was just waiting for his final days to come. He was
deeply loved by his owner whose heart was terribly broken when goodbye
finally came. It was something that both of them did not expect.

their days together were already numbered. She opened herself to the
possibility of losing him in his sleep or falling from a steep hill of
rock. She realized that when the day has come; Mason might go even
without goodbyes.
9. Putting him down never entered her mind. He was far too special and didn’t deserve such pain.
As an owner, her worst fear was seeing
her dog going through an unimaginable amount of pain because of old age.
He was far too special but putting him down had never entered her mind.
10. Mason never stopped fighting…
Despite the difficulty in movements,
Mason never stopped fighting. He went on like a normal, active dog would
do but his body had slowed him down.

12. But things turned ugly when a wolf suddenly appeared on their path.
It was a fun and quiet hike away from
home when she noticed a shadow deliberately following their trails. She
looked back, only to see a frightening figure of a wolf.

monster. It was huge as she noticed when it stood proud behind them, as
if it was waiting for the perfect chance to start devouring their

dogs but she was prepared to fight. Little did she know, Mason was more
ready to save her even if it had to cost him his own life, and so he
did.
15. This was the wolf that took Mason away from her. She wanted to kill it but she knew it was wrong.
This photo of the wolf was taken after

Mason’s death left a hole in her heart.
She misses him badly but there was a sense of peace in knowing that
while most old dogs die alone by the fireside, Mason chose to spend his
